This week’s updates
• Chris hosted the Skye and Lochalsh Environment Forum on Thursday. A tour of Tormore Forest along with a presentation on the on-going forest restructuring was given to the 18 attendees
• Information has been passed to our new Forestry Commission contact regarding an NFLS application for forest land at Kinloch.
• Car boot tomorrow in the Trust Car Park from 10am.
• Angus has spoken to a journalist regarding grid constraints for community wind developments.
• A new application to the Community Transport Fund of Highland Council is being finalised. It will be for a similar amount of funding as last year and will be for a continuation of the subsidised taxi service.
• Calum MacEachern has agreed to join the board of Sleat Renewables Ltd. Garry Noakes stepped down as a director of SRL at last week’s board meeting. Best wishes to him and his family as they head to Oz.
• The Trust Board meeting is this Monday at 7.30pm.
• A date has been set for the Trust’s AGM. This will be on Tuesday 30th of October 7pm and the venue will be Seòmar Cruinneachaidh at Sabhal Mor Ostaig.
• Chris attended a Highland Woodfuel meeting in Kingussie. Good meeting with Highland Wood Energy re the possibility of partnership working.
• An advert for the rental of our anemometer mast is in the Scottish Farmer this week. We have had one enquiry to date.
