Your updates from this busy week;

•         Private log length (3m) sales have started from Tormore. Set price is £28 per tonne and we have teamed up with Skye Transport (Crossal) to deliver. Already we have taken orders for 280 tonnes from the length and breadth of Skye!
•         Continuing our run of visitations from other community groups, Westray Trust from Orkney, will visit next Wednesday. Our popularity continues with another enquiry, this time from Helmsdale Development Trust in Sutherland, for up to 10 members to visit us in September. Dates are awaited.
•         Much time has been spent on Insurance this week for the Trust’s assets, staff and directors. We now have a better understanding of what has and needs to be covered and changes are in progress.
•         Alistair Culbertson has been put forward by Sleat General Grazings as their representative for co-opted director on to the Trust board. Alistair has been asked to come along to Monday’s night’s board meeting to discuss further.
•         Chris has now produced a comprehensive Tormore Forest Plan for the years ahead and this has been presented to the board of SRL and to the Environment Group.
•         We have heard that we were unsuccessful with our funding application for SRDP funds for our proposed Woodfuel Facility in Tormore. Also we have be told that South Skye Moorings  Association were unsuccessful with their application to the Coastal Communites Fund for the Armadale Old Pier refurbishment.
•         A meeting was held with reps from Camuscross and Duisdale Initiative on Tuesday. Our meeting room now has a display of new architectural drawings of the proposed community hub along with a business plan/feedback report. The meeting discussed a joint community evening event around food possibly held at SMO in September. More details to come.
•         Mark attended an exhibition in Glenelg relating to the proposed Kylerhea Tidal Array. We have some information relating to this very ambitious project if anyone wishes a copy.
•         Quotes have been received for the refurbishment of Trading's portacabin.
•         Niall has been told to expect a visit from the petroleum officer in early July to inspect the filling  station.
