Queen present at Mike Davies Photo Exhibition
It was an event that the many fans of Mike Davies's photography had waited to see for three years. Even the Queen was present at the exhibition staged in the Victoria Gardens on Saturday 23rd August ... well, this photo of her was anyway!
Many admirers of Mike's photography gathered to see a dazzling array of prints around the exhibition centre and to watch a continuous showing of his video clips on a wide range of subjects. People had gathered to honour the man as well as his exceptional photographic skills. Mike is well known to be generous in sharing his images and the Neath Hospital League of Friends benefited to the tune of just over £200 from the sale of Christmas cards featuring his photographs and the raffle of a framed print.
This fine exhibition was a fitting tribute to Mike's outstanding photographic skills and, moreover, honoured someone who is known to one and all to be a thoroughly nice guy. Many thanks to Deborah Brambley from the Neath Port Talbot Council and others who helped stage this occasion. Not least among the helpers was Mike's wife Maureen who is pictured with him at the Victoria Gardens exhibition. The Neath Guardian Online is proud to have Mike Davies as its ace photographer and correspondent.
