The Morriston Big Band comprises of 19 musicians, with the usual line-up of 4 Trumpets, 5 Trombones, 5 Saxophones, Guitar, Keyboards,  Bass, Drums, a male and female Vocalists, all providing a wonderfully full and rich sound.

MBB is available to play at all kinds of corporate or private functions including concerts, outdoor events, weddings and dances, throughout South and West Wales

The Morriston Big Band was formed one evening in November 1995

Its main ethos is to ensure 'Big Band' music and traditions live on. This is encouraged by involving and training young players. Several of the musicians are retired professionals,  some of whom trained and played in army bands. Experience gained from this can provide the young musician help with style, tone, technique and improvisation skills.

All band members provide their services free with the aim of continuing interest in big band music and nurturing up and coming musicians.
Since its formation the band has gone from strength to strength and has a compliment of some 18 or more playing members, male and female vocalists and non -playing support members.

The band plays at concerts or for dancing at numerous venues within the Swansea and West Wales area. These include local parks, clubs, hotels,
 various functions and festivals and also Swansea's Grand Theatre.

MBB held a concert on June 28th at Victoria Gardens which was filled with the sound of music despite the heavy rainfall at the beginning of the concert, however the band carried on and the sun and crowds eventually came out to listen to the wonderful sounds of the big band.
