Steam & Vintage event at Cefn Coed

Steam & Vintage Photo Shoot at Cefn Coed

with Mike Davies

Neath Steam & Vintage Show 2014

The event took place on the two days of the May Day bank holiday at Cefn Coed Colliery Museum, the weather held dry as record crowds came to see the well-turned out display of vintage tractors.

Commercials, cars,, steam engines, buses, motorbikes, all in pristine condition, which have been lovingly restored by their owners.

There was also the last surviving Neath gas tram on show,

The Show included crafts, a model tent, and a car boot sale.

The museum opened in 1980 and it still houses the original steam driven boilers, as well as many exhibits relating to the history of the coal industry. There is also a model railway society which is well worth a visit.

The event is in its fifth year and going from strength to strength, all on hard solid ground so things are moving even in the wet weather.

It was a great event for all the family, we wish the organisers all the best  for the future, and look forward to seeing them back at Cefn Coed Colliery Museum in the Dualis valley in the May of 2015.
