Neath Photographic Society

It was a great pleasure and honour to be asked to be part of the selection team for this year’s Neath National Exhibition.

The standard was very high, which made the selectors task a most enjoyable one. This however did mean that a lot of really good work did not get accepted. We tried to make sure that the exhibition had a good balance and styles of work. Unfortunately this did mean that work of a similar nature was at a slight disadvantage. Moreover, the standard overall was one of the best that we have judged to date. The standard still seems to be on the rise. Even the monochrome section, which in the past has sometimes lacked quality, was equally as good as the other sections in this years Neath exhibition.

Congratulations must go to all those who had work accepted and even more so to the award winners. Comiserations to those who were unsuccessful this year but please try again next year where there will be a new set of judges and different images.

Congratulations to the Neath Team who worked hard to make the exhibition selection weekend process run so smoothly. The hospitality and efficiency shown was second to none.
