Art on show
Local artist Garfield Evans from Resolven had an exhibition in the “Miners Welfare Hall” Resolven, 10th —12th October 2013 with visits from Peter Hain MP and Cllr Marian Lewis, Mayor of Neath Port Talbot.
Mike Davies had a chat with Garfield Evans who went on to say: “I’ve been painting all my life and have had exhibitions all over the place”
Garfield said he was expecting visits from MP Peter Hain, school children, and Neath Port Talbot Council’s Mayor during the exhibition.
The paintings were taken from photographs, and is a wonderful record of what once was a thriving mining community, and also the hard, and dangerous work that they faced. These paintings are both a tribute to the miners and their families throughout the years
