Post Office say no

The Post Office Review Panel say there is no need for a post collection box at the Waunceirch Tesco Express shopping area.   They say that the one that has been lower down Dwr-y-Felin Road for the past fifty years can deal with needs of residents at Rhiwlas, Fernlea Park and surrounding areas.

Despite hundreds of houses being built on the elevated area over the last two decades, no post collection box has been added.

The Royal Mail refers to the top of Dwr-y-Felin Road as a 'slope' whereas in fact it is one of the steepest roads in the area.   Because the Post Office has not considered the terrain in a sensible way, the matter has now been referred to the Postal Redress Service (POSTRS).

It is thought that Royal Mail officials should walk the route in the company of elderly residents, many of whom live in the area.
