Don't go down to the woods today

People fought for the Herons which have historically nested at Cilfrew and they managed to get a stay of execution from NPT CBC who are the people who lease the 'Country Park' of Graig Gladys from the Forestry Commission. It was reported in the South Wales Evening Post that they would be left in peace for this year at least.

The accompanying pictures tell a story, a before and after story. The people of Cilfrew do not consider this carnage as leaving birds in peace to nest. What has been done to this area is horrific. The carnage that all can witness shows no care whatsoever for the environment we live in. Does NPT CBC have any environmental officers or departments come to that? To isolate the few herons nests with no cover whatever in this manner is nothing short of idiotic.

There was once a body of people who called themselves 'Friends of Graig Gladys'. Does this body still exist? Is there no one who cares?

Ed Note   The photos shown here reveal that the residents of Cilfrew are living close to the problem.
