NAS ARCHIVE ON CAMERA

Further proof of the value of the archives held by the Neath Antiquarian Society was evident this week when it was one of the filming locations used for a forthcoming episode of the BBC programme ‘Coming Home’, which examines the past of celebrities who have a Welsh connection.  The subject was the comedian/actor Ben Miller and our archive was able to provide documents and photographs that assisted in the tracing of Ben’s ancestry.

Filming took place in the strong room at the Neath Mechanics’ Institute where the archive is located.  It was a very successful day’s shooting and should result in a very interesting and entertaining programme.  The episode will be transmitted sometime in the next few months.
