Chimney sweeps have always been associated with luck, new brides to new homes where given irons to the fire,making sure the home was warm and welcoming to all. The fire was seen as the heart and spirit of the family,a chimney sweep was a well respected service, soildiers and sailors kept coal in the pockets for luck during wartime.

King George II coach was restarined by a brave a plucky sweep after the horses bolted and charged down a London Street out of control,from this the king decreed that all chimney sweeps as to be lucky.
