Glenelg Sea Forest is a company set up by Birgit Defoort and Nicolas Vyncke.
Birgit has been a regular visitor to the Glenelg area over the past 15 years and is co-owner of a house in the village.
Her partner Nicolas is an entrepreneur specialised in sustainable buildings.
Glenelg Sea Forest intend to apply to the Scottish Government for a marine licence to establish two seaweed farms in the waters of Aird na Mhuill Bay and east of Glas Eilean (Loch Alsh, Highland). Prior to applying for the licence, and in line with legislation, Glenelg Sea Forest will host a Pre-Application Consultation (PAC) to seek the views of stakeholders on the proposed development. As part of this process a public meeting will take place on the 10th of March 2021 at 14:00 hrs. Due to COVID-19 restrictions this meeting will take place online.
