CPD group meeting 12th Jan 2012

What I'm hoping is that you will take on trust that you already embodied the educational knowledge of master educators. The two units are going to give you the opportunity of both making public your knowledge in a way that contributes to the knowledge-base of education and of evolving your knowledge in the process of making it public.

Because of the uniqueness of your autobiographies, learning, values and contexts, each of your written (or multimedia) accounts will be different. What I'm also hoping is that you won't allow the 'course specifications' to constrain your creativity. There is always a danger, as you know, that the imposition of a 'given curriculum' can get in the way of you expressing your own living curriculum in your own way. At the same time it is always good to know the criteria/standards of judgment that are 'applied' by the university in judging the writing. What I think that I can do is to respond to your writings in a way that values your creativity and difference whilst at the same time meeting and going beyond the 'external standards'.

On Thursday, we will catch up with each other's hopes, intentions, writings and readings, 

Marie is working on the creation of 'Living Legacies' because the spending cuts have removed APEX as a service from the end of August 2012. There is a launch on 2nd Feb for all those interested in contributing to improving educational experiences for children and young people.

This coming Thursday we could use Marie's writings for her doctorate to see if we can learn to make suggestions to enhance comprehensibility, the evidence used to justify claims, the awareness of the influence of the normative background of the writing and the authenticity of accounts.
