After we have caught up with any news, writings, readings you bring I'm hoping that we can focus on writings for a masters educational enquiry:

“In the unit, participants will be required to undertake a small-scale action research project in which they will research an attempt to improve educational practice and provision with the overall aim of producing validated explanations of the educational influences on their own learning, the learning of others and the learning of their context.

The unit will address the following issues:
.                 •Theoretical perspectives and practical understandings of practitioner-research

.                 •School, local authority and government policies on education

.                 •The value judgments implicit in different research methodologies

.                 •Systemic influences on learning of educators researching to improve their values-based practice 

.                 •The use of action research methodologies in the improvement of educational practice and provision and the development of educational knowledge

The educational enquiry writings are based on the assumption that you already have the embodied knowledge of a master educator, its equivalent or higher and that what we need to work on is making your embodied knowledge sharable by others through finding an appropriate way of making it public. As we do this, we always find that the knowledge deepens and extends.

We are also planning a meeting on the 2nd February 2012 to develop our contributions to a Living Legacy - bearing APEX in mind.
