CPD project meeting

8 December 2011

5.15-7.00, Room 1West 3.15 University of Bath, Thursday 8/12/11

In the Foreword to the Special Issue of the Journal of Co-operative Studies Maureen writes:

"I now prefer to think of co-operative learning as experiential and being defined by a set of features underpinned by co-operative values. Values are culturally referenced and the values framework that has grounded me is that articulated by the International Co-operative Alliance in its 1995 Statement on the Co-operative Identity. Although set in the context of enterprise, I find the suite of six organisational values (self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity) and the four ethical values (honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others), can be interpreted readily from an educational perspective. They provide a language to explore my motives and actions and scaffold my reflection."

Here is Maureen's Foreword

We could look at the 6 organisational values and 4 ethical values to see if we would like to use these in accounting to ourselves and each other for 'living values, improving practice cooperatively'.

Love Jack.
