Friendly v Loch Broom, 16th March 2012
19 March 2012

Thirteen young Shinty players from Kinlochbervie Camanachd travelled to Ullapool last Thursday to take part in a friendly tournament hosted by Loch Broom at Ullapool High School and organised by John Wood, KLB Active School Co-ordinator. The teams were on equal footing with younger players and more experienced players on both sides. The KLB side put on a strong display and finished the first half 3-2 in the lead with two goals from one of the youngest players, James Flett S1 and another from Mathew Hathaway S5. The second half got off to a flying start with Ullapool getting two goals in quick succession. The KLB team with no substitutes were finding it hard to keep up with the fresh legs of the Ullapool side’s rolling subs, but did however find the back of the net via forward, Dodi Mackay, S6 taking the score to four all. The even score was short lived when Ullapool once again scored securing them the win at 5-4. It was once again a great game with a friendly supportive atmosphere courtesy of the Loch Broom organisers. A return match is hoped for before the Far North Shinty Sixes which take place on Saturday June 2nd.

Golden Ball Winner: Sophie Clark
