ANNUAL HOLIDAY FOURS - Sunday 25^th July  until  Friday 30^th July

Once again it is time for the Annual Holiday Fours at the Hope Paton Bowling Club.

In 1947 Hope Paton applied to the Montrose Town Council for permission to hold an Open rinks Tournament during the Trades Holiday. In 1950 this competition was referred to as the Hope Paton Holiday at Home Bowling Competition and later became the Holiday Fours. The first trophy for the competition was a rose bowl gifted by Provost J. C. Cameron in 1954.

The current Holiday Fours Trophy was presented by Mr. & Mrs. S. L. Hale in 1998 to replace the original trophy (when the base became full).

The Competition is sponsored by Glaxo Smith Kline, The Black Abbot and the Yard with Total Prize Money  of £400.

The busiest day of the event is on Sunday when three sessions will take place.

Food and refreshments will be on sale and entry is free to the public.  Why don’t you come along and enjoy watching an entertaining day of bowls in a nice relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Here is the draw for the first rounds of this year’s competition which takes place on Sunday 25^th July and lasts until Friday 30^th July when the final will be held at 6.30pm.

All teams are Hope Paton unless otherwise stated.
