Who we are

We are a diverse group of people who share a commitment to growing our own food in a sustainable way. Since 2008 we have been renting 4 ares of organic land in Shillingford, near Exeter. Our members interests include permaculture, heritage fruit & vegetable growing, seed saving, companion planting, cooking and storing our produce, sustainable building and low carbon living. We all share a common interest in reconnecting with the land.

What we do

We meet on Tuesdays and Saturdays to sow and harvest our vegetables and to maintain our land. We hold regular meetings to plan and develop our work, and organise training and mentoring for our members. ECA works in partnership with BTCV, offering the use of our site to support practical work experience for local people. Every so often we organise socials, picnics and BBQ's for our members and friends, and have a lot of fun growing our delicious food together.
