Unfortunately the gardeners have had to give up the garden due to relocation, so the owner is once again on the lookout for an enthusiastic bunch to help restore the garden to it's former glories. What an amazing opportunity!! Please get in touch with us if this is something you would be interested in.

A group of four people have agreed to take on the garden, maintaining it as a growing space to provide vegetables, fruit and cut flowers, as well as look at producing 'Burnville honey' and preserves further down the line. They also hope to enhance the cold frames and look at the potential to rebuild the existing greenhouse structure.

About the project

Burnville Farm has a beautiful Victorian walled garden which is in need of some TLC. All the photos here were taken in February 2011 - imagine how lovely it will be in summer!

It is located near North Brentor, 8 miles north of Tavistock, on a regular bus route from both Tavistock (20 mins) and Okehampton (30 mins).

 

The owner is keen for a community group to take over the garden and would like to negotiate some supply of veggies and flowers to the farmhouse in lieu of rent.

The garden has some established soft fruit, a grape vine and a few fruit trees. Shed space can be made available.
