Since the Member’s Forum site visit, a range of different volunteers have stepped forward due to Jenni (who provided the garden tour) having less time for the garden since finding a full time job. The group harvested the potatoes that we saw, and despite not being hilled up, had a huge harvest! They held a party on site and gave potatoes away for donations as a publicity stunt and to gain more volunteers.

The group have obtained small amounts of funds from local, district Councils and are making progress with a shed and getting water to the site. They are considering putting a poster with the garden design on the notice board to highlight to visitors what the ‘vision’ of the site is.

Recently HogCO has assisted the garden group with:

  • Health and safety advice (template policies)
  • Insurance Contacts
  • Colour laminate poster for display on their noticeboard
  • Attending a group meeting to talk through issues to do with their constitution and legal agreement with the Town Council.
