Golspie connection
My family came from the Golspie area over 100 years ago, my family history includes Fergusons, Melvilles & Armstrongs, with an early connection to the Sutherlands through Ann Sutherland, who married William Melvin in the 1700's. I have been researching my heritage, and gave found it fascinating to unravel the threads. If any one has info that would help, such as history of life back then, I would love to hear from you. My grandfather was Donald Ferguson, who married Emma Armstrong in India in 1878, I believe he died in India; he lived & worked there as a tea planter; the chidren were sent home to their grandmother, Masrgaret Ferguson (nee Melville) for schooling. Thank you, Mary

Have quite a bit of information on the Ferguson/Melville connection if you would like to get in touch. Thanks.
