Trout Lake

41 rods caught 152 fish rod average 3.7

Best fish Alan Lockett from Burton a brace of 4lb rainbows in a 4 fish catch: all taken on black and green buzzers on a floating line .

Brian Liddell from Tamworth caught 9 fish for over 18lb all on a green nymph .

Chris Edwards from Wolverhampton caught a 5 fish bag for 11.5lbs plus caught/release 3 fish best weighing 2.25lb on Appetiser and buzzers .

Most fish caught either just below the surface or around  one foot down. Plenty fish rising during the day too, follow the wind to find the fish.

Over 39 Carp reported this week and the odd cat.

Steve Miles topped the board with his impressive 25lb 8oz ghostie. This fish is a particular target for many anglers here and is one of the hardest fish to catch in the lake. Steve also bagged a 20lb common, 16lb fully scaled mirror, 18lb 2oz mirror and a pretty low double. Single hook baits again and hardly any feed.

Stuart Langley 20lb common plus two 20lb mirrors a 21lb 8oz mirror, 20lb cat and 8 doubles in day and a night!

Mick Tandy banked the first grass carp of the season at 18lb on a bottom bait and a 19lb 4oz mirror on a zig rig.

Jason Holloway 23lb common, Wayne Hadland 18lb cat , John Hoult and Mike Elliot shared a swim and got 5 doubles to 19lb 8oz .

John Nutter 21lb 8oz mirror .

Mark Wynn had a true leather at 16lb 2oz .

Loads of fish moving around the margins now and plenty following the wind around, keep feed down, keep it simple and let the fish come to you .
