Mark James from Sutton Coldfield a member of our fishery for many years, caught the catfish in the early hours of Saturday morning weighing 41lb 4oz. The fish appears to have lost a little weight since stocking, but may well have only just started feeding. The fish was in good health and has been feeding on silver fish, due to evidence that spilled out on the unhooking mat.

The fight lasted over 40mins and caused a broken ring inner to Mark's rod and ruined his line. The big cat fell to a single fish meal boilie quite close in off the second point on the lake.

Mark wins a renewal of his membership this year as we promised a free membership or renewal to the first person to bank the biggest cat. This is now officially a new record for our fishery.

Also Phil Higgs had his second cat in as many day's a 21lb cat and Ryan Berridge a 15lb cat.
