Mainly field and woodland paths and tracks, undulating but no steep hills, may be muddy after rain. This circular walk takes you onto both the Wannie and Rothbury railway lines, where trains once steamed carrying Wallington's stone, lime, coal and livestock, as well as passengers.
Meet: Car park behind the former National Trust regional office at Scots Gap, Nr Morpeth, Northumberland, 1 ½ miles due north and east of Wallington on the B6343.

Woodland, riverside, a railway line. Undulating including steps. Mostly good paths.
Meet: The Dam carpark, Swalwell cricket ground. From the A1, leave at J73, follow the A694 for Consett/ Rowlands Gill for approx 1 mile. Turn left at the cricket club then immediately right for the car park.
