Dyke Hikes Annual General Meeting
Thursday 6th February 2020
More new women joined this year and we now have 114 women on the circulation list in all.
There were fourteen walks in the summer programme of 2019, with many old favourites and a couple of new walks. There were three shorter walks, one was a wildflower walk, another followed by afternoon tea at Swarland, and one by a pub meal at Slaley.
There were twelve walks in the varied winter programme with three shorter ones being followed by a pub lunch afterwards at Warden and Wall respectively and one followed by fish and chips in Amble.
All the walks have been well attended.
Thanks to Cheryl and Jackie who joined us to lead walks this year at Blanchland and
New leaders are always welcome so please let us know if you are interested.
Shirley continues to manage the website and is keeping it up to date.
Facebook & Email
We have continued to receive numerous requests for the brochure via Facebook and
email this year.
Our only expenditure is for the website fee and collections have been made to cover this.
Sharon and Pam have continued to share production of the brochure. Sharon had the
great idea of asking for photo contributions from members for the winter brochure and got some great pictures in response..
Very few printed brochures are needed now as most women receive email copies or
download it from the website. We continue to advertise in OUT magazine and the Crack and we remain on Facebook.
2019 has been another successful year for Dyke Hikes with a very varied programme and consistently good attendance on the walks. It is good to see that Dyke Hikes continues to thrive. Thank you to the walk leaders and to the many women who come along for the walks.
Thanks also to Bev for providing the venue for our walks planning meetings and the AGM.
