Getting to Grips with the Project
by Casagrandeblog - 19:16 on 07 March 2013
We had a meeting of our Steering Group last week, and what a Steering Group it is! We have some terrific people giving up their time to ensure that all our stories about the town we love will be put on record for future generations. At our meeting we had Anne Short, Vivienne Plampton, Alix Powers-Jones, Fraser Thomson, Wanda Mackay, Lindsay Hemy, Caroline Hewat and yours truly, Sandy Thomson. We sent a 'Get Well' card to our Courthouse Museum representative, Paul Monk, who is recovering from a recent operation.
Our two Project Facilitators, Lynn Fraser and Mary Peteranna, set out a draft programme of community workshops and other events, running from just after Easter to a final Exhibition in the Victoria Hall in October. I won't say too much about this programme today, because Lynn and Mary have gone away to tweak a few little amendments to the programme, but I can tell you that it involves the Primary School, the Youth Cafe and the Fourways Club - so we are catering for all age-groups - as well as an expert led tour of the wartime buildings on the South Sutor.
We are all really excited about the project. It should be a lot of fun, and will raise Cromarty's profile even higher. What an amazing town we live in!
