Village Lecture Series

The first in a series of Village Lectures takes place in Duisdale Hall on Friday 12th March at 7.30pm.  Angus Robertson will give a talk and lead a discussion on Clean Sleat - Past Year and Future Challenges.  Entry is free, tea/coffee 50p.  Come along and support our first village lecture, and find out how you can work with Clean Sleat to cut your carbon emissions.

All other village lectures: Duisdale Hall, 7.30pm, entry £3 or £2 for members or friends of Camuscross & Duisdale Initiative, includes tea or coffee.

The second lecture will take place on Tues 6th April, when Fergus Walker will give an illustrated talk on The Voyage of the Sea Stallion - adventures in a Viking longship.    Fergus was one of the 60-person crew of the 100 foot replica Viking longship which sailed from Dublin to Roskilde in Denmark in the summer of 2008.

On 30th April, Iain MacKinnon's lecture is entitled In the Homes of Donegal when he will share stories and history from the Irish and Scottish Northwest.  Iain has been based in the north west of Ireland while studying for a PhD with the University of Ulster in Derry.

This series of lectures will conclude with a talk by Rody Gorman, poet, writer, translator in Gaelic, Irish and English and Writer in Residence at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.  Rody will discuss and read some of work.
