Allt Duisdale Latest
Camuscross Community Initiative have been involved in recent negotiations to purchase Allt Duisdeil Reservoir for the community with the intention of producing hydro-electric power.
CCI are being supported in their bid by Sleat Community Trust, Sleat Renewables, and Fearann Eilean Iarmain.
Scottish Water recently advertised the dam for auction in Glasgow but removed it from sale once CCI decided to ‘Register an Interest’ under Part II of the Land Reform(Scotland ) Act, 2003.
A meeting was held recently in Cruard with Colin Gray and Yvonne Davidson from Community Assets ( a department of the Scottish Government in Edinburgh) to discuss the best way to proceed.
It was agreed that our Duisdale neighbours should be consulted as to whether they wish to be part of the proposed development, and ultimately, join Camuscross Community Iniative on a permanent basis.
If Duisdale eventually decide to join up with Camuscross Community Initiative then a public meeting will be held and, amongst other things, a new name will be decided upon.
