A feasibility study will soon be commissioned by Highland Small Communities Housing Trust into land identified by Camuscross Grazings Committee and Camuscross Community Steering Group on the hill grazings.
The piece of land has been cut off from the rest of the hill grazings by the new road, but is close to services. It also hoped that the old road will be able to be used as an access road, which would help to keep potential house sites affordable.
The feasibility study is being funded by a grant from the Highland Housing Alliance Trust following a successful application by HSCHT. The feasibility study will establish the suitability of the site near Brae Ord for housing and the likely expense of putting in services to the house sites.
It is expected to take up to six months to complete the study.
