Borgue To Braemore. 5th April 2015.

It was a lovely morning with blue skies and a warm sun when we started the walk at Borgue. We followed the straight track up past the ruined  cottages  and then made across the moor to Borgue Loch. This is a beautiful little loch which nestles in the wild moorland with a small burn feeding into Berriedale Water.

We climbed the small rise beside the loch and from here we could see the white cross on the hillside 1.5 km away marking the site of the Duke of Kents plane crash.

We stopped for a break at the broch north east of the memorial before heading on to it. We then skirted right round the small hill behind the cross coming down to the swing bridge over Berriedale Water. From here we followed the river up to Braemore.
