Ben Horn. 2/3/2014

We parked the cars  at Bridge of Horn which lies several kilometres north west of Golspie. It was not a bad day for the beginning of March. Quite warm if you were in the sun but still with a chilly wind blowing.

We set off up the path to climb one of the outlying hills of Ben Horn. It was very steep and covered in long heather which made scrambling up it even more difficult. It's a long time since I did a hill, so I was really knackered by the time I reached the top. To make matters worse we had to go all the way down the other side, climb a deer fence and make the climb back up again to Ben Horn. I paced myself this time and reached the top in a better physical state. There was a strong cold wind blowing so we trudged back down of the top to the shore of Loch Horn where we had some food and drink.

We followed the side of the shore over wet lumpy ground before finally coming back to the start of the walk.
