LBAP Biodiversity Competition 2009

 Biodiversity Photography Competition

The LBAP Partnership launched a Biodiversity Photography Competition to highlight the biodiversity that can be found in Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and East Renfrewshire.
 
The competition ran from June 1st to July 17th 2009.
 
The three partner authorities supported the competition with the judging panel comprising Councillor Iain Nicolson, Renfrewshire Council, Councillor Alistair Carmichael, East Renfrewshire Council, Councillor David Wilson, Inverclyde Council and Norman Tait, retired professional photographer and local wildlife photographer.
 
There were two divisions for four categories and the judges included
  
Entry categories
 
The competition had 4 categories which must feature biodiversity
 
1.       Special Places- Scenes of landscapes showing natural place within the LBAP area 
 
 
2.       Fauna- images showing a wild animal in a natural setting 
 
 
3.       Flora- images showing a wild plant or fungi in a natural setting 
 
 
4.       Urban wildlife- images of wildlife in an urban or more unusual setting

 The placed images will be going on tour throughout the LBAP area, they are currently on display at the University of the West of Scotland Paisley Campus library, but will be on display at Paisley Museum from the 19th of October 2009 till the 10th of January 2010.
