10/01/20   The Pre-Submission Process

Following many months work by our three Theme Groups (Housing, Environment & Sustainability) and our planning consultants, our draft Pre-submission plan is approaching completion. On completion it must be subjected to public scrutiny by the parishioners of Bagworth, Thornton and Stanton-under-Bardon and the mechanisms for achieving this are currently being conceived. Watch this space for further information! 'Drop-In' events are provisionally planned for March in each village. However, if you would like your own copy for perusal please just send your email address to ibriggs.sub@gmail.com and we wil send you an electronic copy upon publication.

18/02/19  The public meeting held at Stanton-under-Bardon village hall on 16/02 was most successful. It was attended by 17 people from Bagworth, 21 from Thornton and 45 from Stanton-under-Bardon. Gary Kirk, our consultant from YourLocale gave a brief explanation of the Neighbourhood Planning process and the Chairman of our Steering Group, Russell George, gave a resume of our progress to date. This was followeed by a short Q&A session after which attendees were invited to join one of the three new Focus Groups. Having established the purpose and function of each Group arrangements were made for future meetings to investigate each of the three main planning processes in depth.

16/02/19  Phase 2 of the project moves into gear with a public meeting at Stanton-under-Bardon Village Hall at which the new Theme (Focus) Grouips will be created. This is a public meeting open to all parishioners and stakeholders of the three villages and Merry Lees. PLEASE COME ALONG! You will be invited to join one of our new Theme Groups, whichever subject you prefer, and to give us your views and opinions on a number of planning issues appertaining to the main Theme of that group. The meeting will run from 100 to 1200 and light refreshments will be available.

02/11/18  The first phase of our project is now complete. WE have appointed a planning consultant to advise and assist us as we move forward into the second phase. for this key phase we urgently require the assistance of as many parishioners and stakeholders as we can encourage to join us. Please see the November and December editions of 'The Herald' for further information about a launch event early in the New Year.

15/07/18  The issues raised by the visitors to our Drop-In and Stakeholder events have now been collated into an online grid by our advisers RCC. Three Focus Groups have been created  each of which consists of people living in one or other of the three villages which, collectively, comprise the designated area. Each Focus Group is village-centric and is now analysing the issues outlined on the online grid. The results will inform the Public Questionnaire which will be created in the near future and delivered to every household and business in the area.

09/01/18  We are now looking to recruit interested people into our Focus Groups. If you are interested in Housing and Industrial Development; Transport infrastructure; Education; Entertainment; Shopping and Services Provision then please join one of our Focus Groups and have Your say on how our Neighbourhood Plan develops in your area of interest. Please contact ianbriggs118@gmail.com or ring 01530 243631 for more information or keep your eye on our facebook page and join us in a local hostelry for a Focus Group meeting after our monthly STeering Group meeting.

13/11/17  The Drop-In Events have now been held and were reasonably well attended at each location. Parishioners were impressed with the display boards by RCC and many constructive comments were made. Attendees were also pleased to be given the opportunity to register their opinions and suggestions regarding many aspects of neighbourhood planning

If you attaended one of our Drop-In events and left us your email address, your name was entered into a raffle for a hamper as our way of saying 'Thank you' for your interest. The winner of the hamper was Mrs Fairbrother of Stanton-under-Bardon. Congratulations!
