Welcome to Wollaton Natural History Society
The Society exists to promote the study and appreciation of the natural world by arranging regular illustrated talks, guided walks, recording and publications.
The programme of indoor illustrated talks by guest speakers, takes place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month starting at 7.30pm at St Leonards Community Centre, Bramcote Lane, Wollaton. NG8 2ND (Opposite Wollaton library).

NEXT INDOOR MEETING:
18th June - 'Let's Get Close to our Owls'- Beverley Rhodes will be telling us about owls. She will be bringing in 3 owls, Barn, Little & Tawny which can be held and shared.
Meetings are held inside St Leonards Community Hall.
NEXT GUIDED WALK:
Monday 7th July: Mel Penson is leading a walk in Wollaton Park looking for clearwing moths, (if forecast poor Thursday 10th - if unsure check on website before travelling). Meet at 1pm at the entrance to the courtyard of Wollaton Hall (containing seating/shop/ Industrial Museum & toilets). Mel will be using pheromone lures to see if she can attract several species of clearwings in their preferred habitats. The walk will last ~ 2hours.
Free for members, visitors £3.

MEMBERSHIP: £16 annually, payable in January, join on the door.
Pro rata after March.
VISITORS are always welcome: £3.00 per meeting, £3 for walks.
At meetings there is a charge of £1 for refreshments during the break.
