We've had a fantastic response to our invitation for fellow herding enthusiasts to join us for a herding weekend event with our guest trainer Gianni Canapoli from Italy.

The enquiries have come in thick and fast and we have a brilliant assortment of breeds in the pipeline to attend including several Spanish Water Dogs, a Canaan Dog, a Pyrenean Sheepdog and a Tibetan Terrier. Obviously photo opportunities galore!

There are a couple of other herding events to look forward to before then.  Our first "meet" of the season is on the last Saturday in April, and as well as training a few dogs we hope to have something of a "committee meeting" to plan the summer's events in more detail.

"Camp Beardie" takes place on the first weekend in June hosted at nearby Nawton by the Bearded Collie Club's Northern Branch.  One of their events will be an Introduction to Herding and several members will spend a day at our training venue The Glebe near Pickering, learning about herding with their Beardies, another event that promises to be a lot of fun and very interesting.

Later in the year we have Carl Borgstrom, expert Beardie herding trainer from Sweden, making a return visit to North Yorkshire - more information about this event will be posted on the herding website www.spanglefish.com/HerdingBeardies nearer the time.
