The Stirling Caledonian Strathspey and Reel Society enjoys good relationships with many other music societies, with some of the SCSRS members also being members of one or more of them. Some of these societies are listed below.
The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra is one of Scotland's foremost traditional music organisations. The Orchestra was formed in 1980, deriving its origins from Fiddlers’ Rallies which were are held throughout the country. After one of these Rallies, a group of enthusiasts met to consider the formation of an orchestra which would draw its members from across the various leading Scottish music societies in forming a cohesive, vigorously rehearsed group of musicians. The Riverside Music Project is based in the Riverside area of Stirling. This group supports family and community learning of traditional music in the Stirling area. www.spanglefish.com/riversidemusicproject
The Blackford Fiddlers Group is based in Blackford, Perthshire, and caters for fiddle players of all levels of proficiency, including absolute beginners. The membership is largely children and young adults but there are quite a few mature adults too. The BFG promotes playing by ear although sheet music is also available. www.blackfordfiddlers.org.uk
