The Yorkshire Museum of Farming tells the story of farming through the ages in every season of the year. The extensive collection includes vintage tractors, traditional tools, and implements from one-furrow ploughs to a threshing machine, as well as livestock and poultry and a special exhibition showing life as a land girl in World War II. If the weather is fine we shall also have the opportunity to explore a recreated Viking village, Roman fort and Iron Age roundhouses.
The Museum is situated on Murton Lane between the Auction Mart and Murton Village. It is signed from the Grimston Bar roundabout on York ring road; SatNav YO19 5UF. Turn in at the entrance marked Murton Park.
