CAMBER CASTLE and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve

5.75 miles              RATING 2 .................EASY/MODERATE

A very enjoyable route taking in Camber Castle before doing a circuit of the nature reserve. It is almost entirely off road and totally flat! The nature reserve is designated as a site of Special Scientific Interest  (SSI) owing to the many unusual plants and animals that live there. The wild flowers are at their best between late May and mid July, especially the wild poppies, the yellow-horned poppy, red valerian and viper's bugloss. However the area is best know for its bird life, with over 300 species having been sighted there.
