ROUTES - INFORMATION

For the first time the 1066 Country Walk is broken down into 6 separate stages making it far easier for walkers, particularly those from outside the area, to plan their itinerary. However there are also 6 circular walks in the second half of the book, all incorporating part of the 1066 route, thus allowing walkers to explore even more of this delightful countryside!
Walks are graded for degree of difficulty, ranging from 1 (Easy) to 5 Very Testing!)
Dog walkers are advised on each route as to the likelihood of encountering sheep, cows and other livestock

Easy to follow sketch maps drawn by local wildlife artist Lorraine Ashley, who also drew the superb icons map at the front of the book
All routes measured using a Garmin Forerunner 405 watch
Two maps cover the entire area; but you can get away with just using OS Explorer Map 124 Hastings & Bexhill
