Music by ZeroBeatI am strongly inspired by the sound of the late 70's early 80s, when the first polyphonic synthesizers came on the market and various bands (existing and new) adopted these instruments to create a whole new kind of music. With my music I try to capture the very typical rhythmic structures and put them underneath simple melodies. I add loads of fine detail and effects to create a really rich sound. I beleive that the sound is paramount to the music, and lots of care is taken to get it just right for each piece. Below is a list of some of my tunes. You can download them for free for personal use. If you want to share this music with others, please send them to this site to download their own copy. If you want to use the music or parts thereoff for broadcasting or for other purposes, you will need written permission from myself. Kraftwerk D NEW!
|
First expiriment with my new percussion synth of the same name. I built this synth so I no longer need to use samples for my percussion, which I prefer. And it opens up a whole new world of sound effects too. |

IFR | A bit a follow up to VFR (it was asking for that). This tune uses a combination of the DV Benchmark II , the good old MiniMoque VA and samples for the percussion. Very retro '80s arp with a extremely simple theme. I must admit that the MiniMogue is still one of my favourite VSTIs. |

VFR | Another tune entirely created using the DV BenchMark II softsynth, again with exception of the percussion, which are samples. The piece combines some really retro synth sounds with a contemporary mood. |

Dark Skies | Introducing the new DV BenchMark II softsynth. With exception of the drums, which are samples, all percussion and arps are made using the BenchMark's gate facility. No other instrument was used. Ultra simple melody, but very atmospheric. |

FM | This short piece in my "normal" style is a very elaborate demonstration of the abilities of the mighty little FirstFM synthesizer. The DV BenchMark is used for the percussion parts. Requires serious bass capability to get the best from it! |

Fantasia | One of my latest creations and a bit of a departure from my "normal" repertoire. This piece of music uses a VST church organ module and is based on themes from 16th century Echo Fantasias of Dutch composer Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. |

The tunes below are earlier work, when I didn't make use of a MIDI sequencer, and all drum sounds are also made with the synthesizers (using white and pink noise and a great deal of ADSR).
Sprite

One of my first synth tracks, with loads of sound effects and a strong sawtooth sweep to set the rhythm. Only used the MiniMogue VA for this piece. |

Pixi | An earlier expirimental piece of mine, with groovy accompaniment and big sawtooth bass. I particularly like the little random twitter that comes in so now and again. |

Cosmic Hang Drum | I used the MiniMogue VA's arpeggiator to create a sound with quite a striking resemblance to the enigmatic Hang Drum. A short but atmospheric lead, and storm sound effects complete the tune. |
download MP3 4:36 |
Alpha8 | Uncomplicated piece with two very simple interlocking themes and strong beat with unusual percussion. |
download MP3 4:51 |
Riffers Final | Contrasting randomizer with sweeping bass on top of a simple dance beat. After a short while, the tune becomes really interesting when a ripping gated chord makes its entry. |
download MP3 4:09 |
Mixolydian | Introducing the S16 sequencer. This VSTi module has been used no less than 7 times in this piece! After a very baroque start, the tune moves into a finale in mixolydian mode. |

Hope you enjoy the tunes!
