FELTMAKING WEEKEND IN THE HIGHLANDS
2 days of inspirational feltmaking with textile artist Sue Fraser
set in a delightfully relaxing setting
in the Highlands of Scotland

Fri 9th March
Arrive at Inshriach House, 3 miles from Aviemore in the heart of the Highlands. A light welcoming buffet will be waiting for you on your arrival.
Sat 10th March
You will spend your first day making 2 basic felt pieces by wet felting, ready to embellish on day 2.
Be inspired by the surrounding Highland countryside and learn how to felt a landscape in the colours of your choice.
Create a 3D object in felt. You may like to design a Christmas stocking or Christmas tree. Or perhaps create delicate woollen flowers or a case for your phone or jewellery.
In the evening you will have an opportunity to sample gin from the estate’s very own distillery inside Channel 4’s winning Shed of the Year 2015.

Sun 11th March – Add embellishments to your pieces, learn how to embroider, needlefelt, add beading and free stitching to finish your art work with a flourish.
Price £450 includes:
2 days of feltmaking tuition with Textile Artist, Sue Fraser, with all materials provided. You will learn to paint a picture in wool and also how to make a 3D piece. Sue will tutor you in needle felting techniques and show you how to add extra detail using beads, embroidery and machine free stitching.
After dinner sample Inshriach’s gin, produced by Walter, owner of Inshriach estate, in Channel 4’s Shed of the Year 2015.
Bed, breakfast, lunch and dinner provided from Friday evening until Sunday lunchtime.

Extra night accommodation available before and after the course at extra cost.

Bring a warm jacket and your walking boots as there are many beautiful walks on the estate and beyond.

You should go home feeling relaxed, well fed and with a new craft under your belt!
