NEXT INDOOR MEETING:
Meetings are held inside St Leonards Community Hall.
17th April - Beaver Update - Kate Lemon, Regional Manager for Trent & Erewash DWT will update us on the progress of the rehabilitation of the Beavers at Willington Wetlands since their introduction in 2022.
.
NEXT GUIDED WALK:
Thursday 11th April - A walk around Codnor Reservoir and along the Cromford Canal looking for Water Voles and Birds – led by Dave Gilbert. The timing should be about right for Water Voles (before the reeds get too dense) and Kingfishers (four have been seen recently). The Great Crested Grebes will be there (4 pairs recently), though may not have humbugs by then.
If a warm day and there is time, exploration of the Forge may reveal some butterflies on the site which was part of the former Butterly Ironworks.
Park and meet up at 10am at the Car Park at Codnor Park Reservoir, Coach Rd, Nottingham, Derbyshire NG16 5PL, (w3w.co/roosts.allowable.poses) near the 'Waterside Café Burger Van'. Unfortunately, there are no toilet facilities at the car park or nearby.
Update: forecast favourable, Dave has confirmed walk going ahead on Thursday.
