Welcome to Wheely accessABLE

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.
Wheely accessABLE was founded in 2015 with some very clear objectives.

What is the purpose of Wheely AccessABLE ?

When i go shopping i want to go shopping, i want to see a shop think I want to look at this or that and i want to go in, when i get inside i do not want to realise i can't get further than 3 foot without either being unable to get any further due to the poorly thought out layout of the shop, or feel like i'm stuck ! because anyone who's in a chair will know how frustrating it is when you are in a tight space trying to manouver out and more and more people stand right behind you !! I also want to move around a shop without having to edge through taking half of the stock with me on my handles leaving me looking like a robotic scarecrow !!

In essence what i want is to be able to have the same shopping experience and opportunity as those not in a chair.

The problem that i and many many other wheelies / parents of wheelies have, is that unless i sit for hours before hand googling, or researching with local access reports i don't know any of this until i'm already in there! There are some really good blogs and audits for searching out where is accessible in my area, but things change all the time, somewhere could be accessible one week then they add a load of end of line stock displays to the ends of the aisles and it's a very different story! There are people that don't have access to be able to do this, or just not the time! From a recent survey it showed that many avoid shopping because of this.

I want people to be able to go through a shopping centre / street, look at the shop window see the wheely accessABLE logo and be assured that this is a shop they can move through, enjoy, and feel safe in. THAT would be a unique and priceless experience and one i am passionate that i will make happen.

The logo is more than a sticker in the window, it will represent the fact that this shop manager / staff are wheely aware, that their knowledge and understanding towards customers in chairs has been changed and is a positive one. One that will ensure that as lines of stock change , we will still be able to access the shop safely.
