About 20 of us gathered at Porlock Village Hall on 11th September.
Our Master of Ceremonies, Basil, opened the meeting, and welcomed our "guest" speaker, our co-founder John Rock, who travelled down from the Midlands to give us a fully illustrated talk called "Three Hats".
Basil's introduction
John waiting in the wings
John's first hat should probably have been a crash helmet as he began by talking about his experiences in the business and sport of motor-cycling. Rockson Motorcycles were begun by John's Father
John then set up his own business in the Black Country
John then put on his skipper's cap to describe how he entered the world of sailing and shipbuilding, culminating in the design and manufacture of the "Tradewind" range of ocean-going yachts.
He finally put on his photographer's hat.....
Finishing with a tongue-in-cheek photograph of his dream home.
During the Interval
The unsung heroines of our meetings.
Following the break, Stephen paid a short tribute to the photographer Robert Frank, who recently passed away at the age of 94.
Then members showed their images
And finally.....
