WaterAid.

Further details on "The Water Warriors" & WaterAid can be found below, otherwise go to our Auction pages to see what you can bid for.

Scottish Water has a team (The Water Warriors)entered in the 2009 Cisco Euro Challenge, being held in Tromsø, Norway, to raise money for WaterAid. The event takes place between 24th to 27th September and involves all aspects of physical and mental endurance.

WaterAid, as you may or may not know, is an international charity whose mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world's poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.

There are literally billions of people that need our help; the statistics are truly shocking:

884 million people in the world do not have
access to safe water. This is roughly
one in eight of the world's population.

2.5 billion people in the world do not have
access to adequate sanitation -
almost  two fifths of the world's population

1.4 million children die every year
as a result of diseases caused by
unclean water and poor sanitation,
amounting to around 4,000 deaths a day

By helping sponsor our team you can help change the lives of some of the world’s poorest people.

Donations of any financial amount, or items/ services that can be auctioned / raffled will also be greatly accepted for this worthwhile cause, be they named or anonymous. All donors will have their company name (where known) listed on this website.

If you are a Company and would like to sponsor the team by way of 'buying' a logo that will be on our running suits throughout the event (The event is shown on Channel 4 later on in the year), then please click on the DONATE button and title your email "Company Sponsorship", leaving any contact details  - we will then get in touch with the various levels available.
