Torridon and Kinlochewe Community Council - we are here for you!
As a Community Council, we exist to help express the views of communities in the Torridon and Kinlochewe area to the Highland Council and other local and public authorities. Also to take action in the interest of those communities.
We hope to work alongside neighbouring Community Councils and Development Companies to represent our area, providing a voice for the local community and making representations to The Highland Council, other public sector bodies and private agencies on matters of local interest.
Community Councils have key roles in consultations on planning applications and liquor licence applications and are expected to participate in community planning arrangements at a local level such as Ward Forums.
Each year the Community Council receives a grant from Highland Council to help it operate but we are also able to apply for other grants or hold our own fundraising events. Due to Budget Cuts from April 2018 Highland Council reduced the annual admin grant for Community Councils by about 50% making operation a bit more difficult.
We hope that this website will help to keep you informed on local issues and encourage you to visit regularly for updates.
Minutes and Agendas of our meetings will be available and also posted on local noticeboards.
