1. Appointment card

The appointment card will be issued on the first lesson. Pupils are advised to to bring the card to the lesson in order for the next appointment/s to be entered. The driving school cannot be held responsible for any misunderstandings that may arise due to the pupil not having the card available when a lesson is booked.

2. Driving licence

Pupils must personally ensure that they are in possession of a valid, signed, current licence which must be produced at the first lesson and be available for checking at future lessons if requested by the Driving Instructor. Both photo card and paper counterpart must be produced.

Pupils must iform their Driving Instructor if they receive any endorsements on their driving licence during the period of their driving course.

Pupils must inform their Driving Instructor of any disabilities they have which may affect their ability to drive.

3. Eyesight

Before being allowed out on the road, pupils will be expected to pass a simple eyesight test that involves reading a number plate from approximately 20.5 metres.

If prescription glasses or contact lenses are normally worn then they must be worn during lessons.

4. Postponement of a Lesson by the Driving School

If by reason of a vehicle failure or other emergency a lesson has been postponed at short notice, an alternative appointment shall be made with mutual consent. Should such a postponement be a driving test, the school shall be responsible to the pupil for the fee of the next test if the test cannot be cancelledwithin the required time set by the DSA.

Pupils will appreciate that a Driving Test must take priority over ordinary lessons. There may be a need to cancel / rearreange the lesson if the Driving School receives short notice of a test.

5. Postponement / cancellation of lessons by a pupil

At least 48 hours notice must be given  or the lesson may still be charged for.

6. Postponement / cancellation of a Driving Test.

The Instructor will advise you of the appropriate time to make an application for both the Theory and Practical tests. The advice will be based on the pupils progress to date. This does not imply that the necessary standard has been reached or will definately be reached by the test date. The School will not hesitate to advise, where necessary, to postpone the test date. This condition is to save the pupil unnecessary expense and failure.

Main reasons for this action :

  1. Not driving at test standard.
  2. Medically unfit (including eyesight).
  3. Appears under the influence of drink or drugs.
  4. Is not properly licenced to drive.
  5. Consistently fails to keep or is late for appointments.
  6. Is in arrears over payments to the School.
  7. If for any other reason that the Instructor considers that the pupil will be unsafe to handle a motor vehicle.

Pupils are reminded that they must produce the required documentation at the test. Failure to comply will result in a cancelled test and you will forfeit your fee.

Pupils may possibly be accompanied on their test by a Supervising Examiner whose job it is to ensure that the official standards of testing are being observed by the Examiners.

Please advise your Instructor as soon as you have a test date booked.

8. School Guarantee

The School guarantees that the Instructor will be DSA Approved Driving Instructor. The relevant licence will be displayed in the windscreen.

There will be no other pupils in the car.

9. Insurance

The car is fully insured for tuition for any driver and for the purposes of thr Driving Test.
