Thurrocks' David Haydon got an impressive 6/11 in this years British Chess Championships at Canterbury , Kent.

He obtained a 2342 fide ( 220 ECF) rating performance and had some a notable win against IM Chris Baker and draws with IM Andrew Greet and IM Thomas Rendle. In round 10 he was unlucky not to get a draw v GM Aaron Summerscale.
