We have taken the decision to close the Smiddy down for this season. The situation with the Coronavirus has made it impossible to operate safely. If have booked with us you will have had an email sent explaining in more detail, and your options. We hope to re-open next year.
The Smiddy is situated on the south-east side of the island next door to Pier Cottage, and is approximately 150yds from the pier. The Smiddy overlooks An Laimhrig where the Shop/ Post Office, Tea-room and Craft Shop are situated and is an ideal spot to watch the many boats and yachts that come and go.
It is only a short walk from the Community Hall which hosts regular musical events and Craft Fairs.
There is a sandy beach nearby where visitors can see many different seabirds and watch the seals basking on the rocks. If you are lucky you might even see an otter.
The caves and the Sgurr are within easy reach. A taxi service leaves from the pier on a daily basis giving visitors the chance to explore the north side of the island and the Singing Sands.
The Smiddy sleeps two/three adults. Dogs are welcome.
