The Retreat - Self Catering Holiday Accommodation
The Retreat is a one bedroom static caravan situated on a working family farm in quiet countryside location in Thorpe Culvert next to Steeping River. By car Skegness is only 15 mins and 5 mins to Wainfleet.
The Retreat is about two and half miles away from Wainfleet and about three miles away from Burgh-le-Marsh. Thorpe Culvert is only a small village but is well serviced by pub/restuarants such as the Three Tuns which is just over the road, and the Holly Tree and Barkham Arms, all within a walking distance along quiet country roads.
As well as the Steeping River there are local ponds stocked with course fish where anglers might like to try their skills, such as Swan Lake Leisure just over the road and Grooby's Pit just 10 minutes walk away.
The Retreat is only 15 minutes away by car from Skegness if you want to have a day out or sample the night life. If you don't want to drive, then you can take the train from the little village station in Thorpe Culvert which takes you there via Wainfleet -All-Saints.
When you have tired of all the sight seeing you might like to come back to The Retreats own garden or take a stroll at your own leisure to one of the nearby inns and sample the local beer and quisine.
SKEGNESS ATTRACTIONS
The Retreat is well based for all country pursuits such as fishing as it is situated beside the Steeping River and close to local ponds, bird watching, cycling and walking as the cycle path goes passed The Retreat and part of the Three Town Walk incorporating Spilsby, Wainfleet and Burgh-le-Marsh is along the river-bank of the Steeping River behind The Retreat, as well as other walks accessable locally. Horse riding is available locally. Skegness with its beach and various attractions such as Fantasy Island at Ingoldmells and various markets. Hardy's Animal Farm, Anchor Lane, Ingoldmells, Skegness Stadium, Stock Car & Banger Racing, Natureland Seal Sanctury at Skegness, Church Farm Museum also at Skegness and The Parrott Zoo at Friskney Nr. Boston, to name but a few, also there is our own Batemans Brewery & Visitors Centre at Wainfleet and Magdelen Museum at Wainfleet.
Bedroom & Sleeping
Having double bed, wardrobe and dressing table and mirror and draws. Over-bed cupboards and carpet. Use of electric heater. Duvet, pillows and blanket supplied.
Please Note: You must supply your own Duvet and pillow covers and bottom fitted sheet/fitted valance sheet and towels.
If you wish us to supply the duvet and pillow covers and towels and to have the bed made up for you when you arrive, we can do this at an extra cost of £10.00.
Shower-room
With shower having glass folding door, hand basin, toilet, electric heater, and shaver point.
Lounge
With comfortable suite, Gas fire and back-up electric heater. Coffee table T.V. and plenty of cupboards and shelving.
Kitchen
With full size gas cooker and gas water heater. Microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle. There is a full range of kitchen utensils, crockery, pots and pans etc. Also, iron, ironing board, wash baskets and pegs and cleaning materials and equipment.
Conservatory
There is a washing machine and tumble dryer for your use. Also a drying rack, cupboard and shelving.
Outside area
There is a Patio with bench and table overlooking lawned area. Also, an outside drying line. There is use of a shed for storing out-door wear and fishing equipment, cycle etc. There is also a parking area.
Prices for 2018
Prices include Gas, Electric and Water.
All holidays must be paid for in full 14 days before the start of the holiday.
A deposit of £50 secures your booking. (non-refundable).
A security Bond of £50 must be paid in addition to the holiday cost and paid with the balance payment. This will be refunded if the caravan is left clean and tidy with no breakages.
A nightly booking fee of £50 (min 2 nights) Plus Bond.
Low season Sat to Sat from £150 per week
Med season Sat to Sat from £250 per week
High season Sat to Sat from £275 per week
The accommodation must be vacated by 10am on the Saturday, day of departure morning.
The Retreat will be ready for take over from 4pm on the Saturday of arrival, unless there are pre-arrangements made.
We may consider letting The Retreat on a longer let at lower rates on a Short-hold Tenancy. Terms and conditons applies. For further information please e-mail or telephone.
